The Congress and the White House appear to merely be two clubs where elected officials and those staffers they appoint to do the paper work are merely there to serve themselves, close families and friends, the corporations that pay for influencing voters turn out and those people with connections to this piece of pie, the collected tax $$$. I live in New Jersey and have been unemployed for sometime now. I am one of those unlucky individuals who have not yet received the home tax rebate from Trenton. Yet, I have been bombarded with tons of mails from the wise guys seeking my vote for the forthcoming elections claimimng they will continue to help. These people have elected jobs, know I am a voter, would like to get my vote so that they can take care of themselves and their well connected friends. WHERE DO FIT IN? Reply

We just had a roof put on a Gov building and it cost 750,000. The roof did need replaced, but they plan on tearing the building down within the next 7-10 years. Im not sure why it cost that much because the building isn't very large. I heard a rumor that in order to get a new gov building you have to show that you are putting money into it. So now they are ripping the insides out too, which is unnecessary. Reply

As usaul NO transparency, as asked before how old are these roofs and who EXACTLY will be doing the work? Illegals or minorities? Yes transparency like answers to these simple questions, probably 20 milllion dollars wasted on this site for freeloaders to now anser questions. Reply

While fixing roofs is a good idea, I do not see what the pressing issue is here, nor how this is going to generate jobs (at least jobs that last longer than the project does). The government cannot make jobs unless they hire them directly. They can only provide the environment for them to grow. The environment Obama is setting up will not do that. Reply

Will this work be performed by US citizens or undocumented aliens? Reply
