First, Selmon already has a road named after him in Eufaula Oklahoma, his hometown. Second, this is just another huge waste of funds. Bill, might i suggest an economics 101 course for ya at the local JuCo. The whole "saving" jobs is a smoke and mirror magic trick. There is NO calculable way to track jobs saved. Any number to that regard is automatic BS. Hope and Change? I just hope in 4 years i got change left in my pocket Reply

Did anyone see 3000 workers at any given moment on the construction of the Selmon? No, I didn't think so. Reply

Reply to Don : There's not going to be 3000 workers on site. There are engineers, electricans, accountants, truck drivers, mechanics, people mining sand, rock, cement for a project may be hundreds of miles away. New construction equipment and trucks may be bought. By law, construction compaines should buy US made products with our $. Jobs are saved or created for new equipment too. The list goes on and on. Dan it's called trickle-down economics. Something Republicons don't understand. Reply

Reply to Bill : Reply to Bill: Obviously Bill doesn't remember the Reagan administration. Trickle down economics was all the rage. Reply

Reply to Patrick : Yes, I agree with Bill's comments except that he's describing basic economics rather than "trickle down" economics. "Trickle down" is a Republican specialty that contends that giving the rich more money rather than the middle class or poor will assure that it eventually "trickles" down to those who really need it. The basic economics that Bill explains to Don is just describing the details of conventional micro-economic activity which Republicans generally like to ignore. Reply

Reply to Bill : Bill, try a high school economics class. do you understand that our debt is 14 trillion and that money doesnt grow on trees and the government doesnt create jobs. Ever heard of inflation after more then doubling the money supply. This is our money...half a billion dollars come on...do you think there are any labor unions involved in this political payoff? Maybe you should study history 2 to learn about Ronald Reagan and Trickle down economics and free enterprise and american exceptionalism Reply
